This video focuses on a huge seven-month long project that I put together for my senior exhibition. In it, I go to the local elementary school and present a class of fifth graders with an art prompt: create an original creature. The documentary is focused on the creative process and covers my experiences of working with the kids. After the kids had come up with ideas for their original creatures, had drawn their creatures, and had written short stories about their creatures, I selected four finalists who would have their work reimagined by me: a professional artist. I was able to talk to the kids while they worked and ask questions to them in an interview process in order to get the clearest understanding of what it was that the kids were trying to create. In the end, the four finalist's creatures, my recreations of their work, and this documentary would be put on display in an art installation for my senior exhibition.
